Details of painting
My show is up!
My show is up and looks great (If I do say so myself)! I’ll post photos of it later.
The Whit wrote an article about it, check it out! http://media.www.thewhitonline.com/media/storage/paper291/news/2008/12/11/Entertainment/Anna-Wright.Premieres.Her.Senior.Art.Exhibit-3577416.shtml
Announcement Card
I am having my BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition announcement card printed using Overnightprints.com and here’s what it looks like!
Underpaintings
Here’s some underpaintings I’ve done. This builds up color and texture. Once it’s dry, I go over it with paint and squgee to get the textural patterns and physical quality of paint that I’m looking for, as seen in my other paintings.
Details of paintings
Here are some detailed images of my paintings, one of which I’ll use for my show announcement. They details look so juicy
More “motion pictures”
I took more video in the studio today focusing on creating that blurred, grainy affect. Everytime I do it, I learn more about the process and the results.
More painting
My show is approaching (Dec 12) and I’ve been working hard on getting everything done in time. I’m really happy with what is happening in my current paintings. There is a push and pull happening with the color and in the subtly of the color variation in some areas. Also the physicality of the paint and the texture created is also very interesting to look at.
Project Basho
I submitted five of my video stills to Project Basho, a gallery hosting a photography competition in Philadelphia. We find out if our work or works are accepted on the 30th!
Here’s their website: http://onward.projectbasho.org/
Another slow motion study
Slow Motion Studies
Here are some slow motion studies from the video I took the previous video stills. I used Quicktime and iMovie to create these short videos.
